The Club Captain is responsible for the overall interests of the club and its future, and represent the club in relation to bodies such as LUSU and British Rowing. They chair the exec committee, and are responsible for the appointment of coaches, boatmen and any other persons engaged by the club, as well as authorising any changes to kit.

Treasurer

The Treasurer is responsible for maintaining a full record of the club’s accounts and calculating estimates and budgets for the following year. They are also responsible for collection of debt from club members, and the reimbursement of expenditure partaken on behalf of the club.

Secretary

The Secretary is responsible for entering LUBC crews to any event the club wishes to attend. They are also responsible for the organisation and recording of minutes of any meeting.

Alongside the Novice Women’s Captain, boat captains, club members and coach(es), they are also responsible for the coaching and organisation of a novice training schedule.

The Novice Women’s Captains are responsible for the recruitment and development of all novice rowers in consultation with the exec committee and coach(es), and for organising recruitment at the Fresher’s Fair and Re-Fresher’s Fair. Alongside the Novice Men’s Captain, boat captains, club members and coach(es), they are also responsible for the coaching and organisation of a novice training schedule.

Coxes’ Captain

The Coxes’ Captain is responsible for the recruitment, development and training of coxes, and in consultation with the Health and Safety Officer, assessing coxes’ competence and their ability to safely cox on the Lune and at races. In consultation with the Squad Captains and coach(es), they are also responsible for the organisation and planning of training sessions for the coxes and the selection of coxes for crews. Finally, they are responsible of the overall smooth running of all Race Days attended by the club, ensuring that all rigging is done promptly, boating is on time and trailer loading is done correctly, alongside all members of the exec.

Equipment Officer

The Equipment Officer is responsible for the general maintenance and repair of the LUBC boats, oars, trailer and other equipment, the general good order and cleanliness of the boathouse, and to liaise with the exec committee and any LUBC boatmen. They shall lead discussions and communications with outside parties in respect to the purchase and/or sale of equipment and servicing of the ergs and trailer with the majority approval of the exec committee, as well as being responsible for the purchase of fuel for the club safety launches.

Press and Publicity Officer

The Press and Publicity Officer is responsible for publicising the club within the University and externally, for coordinating fundraising and sponsorship for the club and its activities, and the regular update of any social or electronic media associated with LUBC. They are also responsible for liaising with the British Rowing Publicity Department in the promotion of rowing in the area.

Health and Safety Officer

The Health and Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring the general safety of members, maintenance of the club safety launches, which includes ensuring they are annually serviced and kept in a general useable state. Additionally, they are responsible for maintaining the stocks of First Aid kits and ensuring the boathouse fire equipment is maintained, and fire evacuation routines are in place at all times.

Social Secretaries

The Social Secretaries are responsible for organising social events on behalf of the club including a weekly social, ensuring the positive image of LUBC is upheld, and organising food at racing events for all members of the club.

Event Secretary

The Event Secretary is responsible for liaising with the exec committee to agree, organise and deliver termly fundraising activities including the Winter Ball. In consultation with the Squad Captains, they are also responsible for the organisation of transport and accommodation for any races attended by the club.

Alumni Relations Officer

The Alumni Relations Officer is responsible for producing a termly newsletter to be distributed amongst club members, both past and present, they will seek out and maintain contact with former members in an effort to bolster Alumni-LUBC relations, extend invitations to summer and winter balls, as well as organise Alumni-targeted events (including a summer regatta/ball).
